Boro came back from a goal behind to share the points with Cambridge City at Milton Road.

Boro fielded an unchanged starting eleven from the side which took maximum points at Didcot, the only change in the squad which raised a few eyebrows, Boro boss Steve King replacing the injured Craig Dobson.

It was Boro who started the brighter, on five minutes Dean McDonald played in by Gary Holloway unleashing a ferocious effort which spun off the defender to the safety of a corner and two minutes later the same result as Daryl McMahon unleashed an effort after good work down the right by Jack King opened up the opportunity.

Cambridge though came back into the game, Michael Jordan having to be alert in the 12th minute as former Boro striker Ramon Calliste receiving the ball from the left, twisted to create a yard of space his well struck effort parried by the Boro keeper and grabbed at the second attempt.

Almost inevitably it was Calliste, destined to come back and haunt his old employers who gave the hosts the lead, Jack King being beaten by his man down the right flank, and when the ball was drilled in a pace, Calliste stole in to drive home convincingly on 25 minutes.

Two minutes later an skipper Steve Robinson incurred the wrath of the match referee, seeing yellow as he tugged back his man who had just got beyond him, much to the dismay of the vocal home support who felt the punishment did not fit the crime.

As the game opened up, both sides created numerous half chances, Dean McDonald attempting an over head kick which troubled the Gods more than the goalkeeper, and Calliste again in action as he just failed to connect with a good ball in from the flanks.

On the stroke of half time, McCollin found himself in the referee's notebook adjudged to have fouled Cambridge skipper Cambridge, although the booking seemed more than a little harsh.

The second half opened as the first half ended, with chances being created at either end, Ashley Fuller perhaps should have done better when he fired wide after good delivery from wide, and good interplay between McDonald & Ibe, the latter failing to find the final ball that was necessary.

Boro levelled things up on 65 minutes, Daryl McMahon striding into open space ahead of him before unleashing an unstoppable strike into the top left hand corner.

The goal commenced Boro's best spell of the game, as repeatedly they picked up the ball in midfield, only to not find that crucial delivery in the final third.

McMahon's free kick with fifteen minutes remaining found the head of Adam Doyle at the far post, and there was a brief moment of uncertainty before City keeper Barrett gratefully grabbed the ball.

Barker spurned a good opportunity into the last ten minutes when he missed the target from Kennedy's cross, and at the other end, McMahon and King both had good half chances, and Stevens Boro's best player on the night with another solid performance at centre back speculative effort from distance in stoppage time being Boro's last chance to take maximum points.

It was probably the right result on the night, with the home team shading the first period and Boro the second, and with Brackley losing second spot to Bashley and Nuneaton convincing winners against Bedford it was a valuable point as Boro continue their charge on the title.
